Can I submit a paper application or resume?

The preferred method for applying for open positions is through the online application system, as this provides the most efficient way for resumes to be reviewed and processed.  In order to be considered an applicant, you must apply for a position that is currently open and posted.

How will I know if my application has been received?

Applicants using the online application system will receive a confirmation that your information was successfully submitted once you apply. You will also receive an e-mail notification when your application has been received. If an e-mail is not received, the application was not transmitted properly and should be resubmitted.

I feel that I meet all of the qualifications of the position for which I have applied, but have not been contacted for an interview. Please explain why I have not been selected.

Due to the large volume of applicants received for open positions, not every qualified candidate is contacted for an interview. Candidates whose experience, education, and special skills/credentials are best matched for an open position will be contacted for an interview.

Will I be notified if the position is filled?

Candidates who apply via the online application system will receive an e-mail notification informing them of our interest or disinterest. At times, a position may be removed from the job listing when it has not yet been filled. In these instances, the department has received an adequate number of applications for the position and is no longer accepting applications.

How long does it take to fill a position?

The time to fill a position can vary significantly, from several weeks to several months. Candidates who are interviewed for an open position will receive information on the expected timetable for filling the position.
